My wrap up forJuly

I feel like I did a terrible job of getting any reading done this month!  I only read 6 books and listened to 1 audiobook.  But I was super busy setting up my new Etsy bookmark store, so that ate into a bit of my reading time.

Out of the books I did get to, I found a couple of new favourites!  Lifel1ke and A Thousand Perfect Notes both have my whole heart forevermore.  Furyborn was fantastic too.  The only book that left me disappointed this month was the audiobook, Meg: Nightstalkers.  So, the Meg series is one of my longtime guilty pleasure series – giant prehistoric sharks and sea monsters! What’s not to love?  Except, I don’t know whether the series is just running out of steam or if I’ve changed since it started in the 90’s, but I found this one so horribly sexist and the main characters so completely unlikeable (they’re the same characters from the other books, when did they become so utterly arrogant and just ugh??) that I almost didn’t finish it.  I’ll still be going to see the movie of the first book that comes out this month, because, well, prehistoric sharks, but I really hope the last upcoming book moves it’s views into 2018….

Let me know in the comments what your favourite read was for July!

  1. I’m so glad you liked the Thousand Perfect Notes! I’ll try and pick it up in August and I’m hyped 😊 my favourite read was The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson, which is good because it took me a good 2.5 weeks to read through 😂

  2. I read 6 books too in July…loved 5 of them and only 1 left me disappointed. Great list of books you got there for your July reads. The Dark Beneath the Ice scared me tho & A Thousand Perfect Notes, I loved it although some parts made me cry.
