Felicity is determined to become a doctor, no matter the cost, and when faced with the possibility of a life as a baker’s wife, she decides drastic measures need to be taken. After another rejection by a university for her application to study medicine, she learns her estranged childhood friend is set to marry a doctor. A doctor that just happens to be Felicity’s idol. She comes up with a plan to gatecrash their wedding and attempt to gain employment with him. After meeting a female pirate in a bar, she finds herself on a journey with the woman to carry out her plan. As time goes on, Felicity realises that all is not as it seems and her childhood friend, Johanna, may not be living the fairytale life she’s assumed she is.

I had high hopes for this book, after loving A Gentleman’s Guide, and I wasn’t disappointed. I love the humour in these books and my only slight disappointment with this one was not getting as much time with Monty and Percy. I know this was Felicity’s story, and I do love her too, but Monty is just one of my favourite characters of all time. I also loved Johanna in this book. I related to her really well. A woman who lives for animals and is strong willed, while still enjoying feminine clothes and make-up. Come to think of it, she basically is me 😀 I love that these books are so character driven, sometimes the plot even seems like a bit of a sideline thing going on, I just want to know everything about the characters. I WANT THEM TO BE MY FRIENDS. 😀

I don’t know if there will be any more Montague siblings books, but I so hope there will be. I’m not ready to part company with them all!
