Review
Thank you to Hachette Australia for providing me with a copy of this book, in exchange for an honest review!
Me: I’m not a huge fan of romance in books
Also me: Prince Wrath, I am available 7 days a week, anytime 🙋🏼♀️
To say I’ve been eagerly awaiting Kingdom of the Cursed is an understatement. I can’t believe it’s been a whole year since I fell in love with Kingdom of the Wicked! In this book we begin with Emilia and Wrath’s journey through the Sin corridor, on her way to fulfill her contract of marriage to Pride. I must admit, the first part of the book took me a bit to get through. Maybe the beginning was slow? Maybe my attention span was having a toddler moment, I’m not sure. But once I got into it, I really got in to it. I now have a burn on my hand to remind me of how engrossed I was. (Don’t cook and read, kids).
Kingdom of the Cursed skated its way into more of an NA category than YA I guess? TBH I’m still completely confused over where that line gets drawn, but anyway, there was a lot more smut, which is exactly what I was looking for when I started groaning about the rumour this book would be more romance centered. 👌
I loved Emilia’s character growth here, she was so driven when it came to her desire for vengeance for her sister, but also had to show such bravery in the face of the princes of Hell. Speaking of which, I loved getting to know the ones we got up close and personal with in this part of the story! Gluttony, Pride, Envy, they were all spellbinding in their own way.
As well as plenty of hot scenes, intense characters and some truly beautiful world building, there were some mind blowing twists that now have me glaring daggers at the calendar as I wait for book 3!
