Noah is in love with his online best friend. Which is a huge problem, for the following reasons:

1. His crush has no idea.
2. Noah only knows him as his gaming avatar.
3. There’s zero chance they’ll ever meet in real life.

So, when Noah sees an opportunity to secretly meet his crush, he takes it.

Even though he’ll have to join the cast of a local production of Chicago with his self-obsessed mother. Even though he’ll need to lie to his best (and only) friend. And even though he’ll have to sing and dance in front of actual people.

Because love is worth the risk. And, really, what could possibly go wrong?

Review

Thank you so much to Penguin Books Australia for providing me with a copy of this book, in exchange for an honest review!

You know those rare authors who you just know will have you grinning like an idiot, cringing along with characters’ mishaps and generally feeling EVERYTHING for the whole book? Tobias is one of them.

Noah is a bit of a social outcast at school and his only escape is the online game he plays with his best (and only) friend. The only problem is, he’s never met him and he’s also been in love with him for years. When his friend lets slip a rare piece of information, Noah suddenly finds a way to meet him. He’ll tell him he’s really his gamer friend….soon….it’ll just be easier if he knows his friend loves him back first, right?

I absolutely adored this book and the CHARACTERS, ahhhh they were amazing. I alternated between laughing out loud to covering my eyes in sympathetic horror for Noah’s most embarrassing moments 😄

If you’re wondering if you need to be a gamer to understand or enjoy any of the book, the answer is absolutely not. Just like the ballet references in Anything but Fine, Tobias is an expert at making sure his characters’ interests form a huge part of the story, without leaving anyone who knows exactly zero about the subject confused in any way.

I hope everyone is adding this book to their TBR list THIS MINUTE and if you haven’t read Anything but Fine, go ahead and add that right now too. Tobias is the master of cute and funny reads!
